What is BYOK?

Bring Your Own Key. Add your own Groq key for cloud transcription and optional AI cleanup, or your own Deepgram key for real-time transcription. Cloud mode does not require a paid Finch license. Provider plans, limits, charges, and retention settings apply.

Why not just use a subscription app?

Finch does not charge a subscription. Use BYOK cloud mode without a paid license, or pay $49 once to unlock local Whisper transcription and offline use on up to 3 personal devices. Third-party API charges are separate.

Do I need to pay for API keys?

Groq and Deepgram: Each provider controls its own plans, pricing, and rate limits. Local Whisper: No API usage fees after you purchase the Finch license. Optional AI text cleanup uses your Groq key.

What does the perpetual license include?

You may keep using the licensed version indefinitely. Every version 1.x update Finch makes available is included at no extra charge. This does not promise that future releases will be produced; a future 2.x release would be separate.

Can I get a refund?
